Extension Services
As our name suggests, extension is at the heart of AWES. We have developed numerous factsheets, infographics, articles, and manuals about agroforestry and woodlot management, which can be found via the “Publications” page. We also have a 17+ year history of offering presentations, workshops, tours, and courses across Alberta. Common topics that we teach include:
- Woodlot Management Planning
- Riparian Restoration
- Shelterbelts and Eco-Buffers
- Alley Cropping, Silvopasture, and Food Forests
- Enhancing Habitat for Wildlife (including Building Houses for Bumblebees and Birds!)
