Western Coalition Reforestation Funding & Support

Services: Funding

AWES invites you to join our 2BT Western Coalition.

The Western Coalition is a women lead initiative with funding through the Government of Canada  2 Billion Trees program (2BT). This project highlights community lead eco-restoration through aggregating funding to rural initiatives with a focus on those with who may have less access to resources and support to forestry and agriculture specialists. Contributing to Canada’s future through increasing permanent forest cover, mitigating climate change, and increasing biodiversity, AWES and our partners have planted over 150,000 trees since it’s start in spring 2022. The Western Coalition has been developed to bring strength to the many small and medium size Western Canadian organizations who value diversity, conservation, restoration, and resiliency. Together we can grow capacity for a sustainable future.

AWES Executive Director, Megan Andre is excited to chair this coalition. For those of you who aren’t familiar with our co-founders and leadership team, you can read more about us Megan Andre, Shannon Frank, Jodie Krakowski here.
