SUMMARY:Riparian Restoration Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a hands-on workshop focused on riparian management and restoration! \nDate: Saturday May 3\, 2025 \nTime: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM \nLocation: Mountain View Community Hall and nearby field site \nSchedule:\n12:30 PM: \nDoors open at Mountain View Community Hall.\nCoffee\, snacks\, and resource materials will be available.\n1:00 PM: \nPresentations begin:\nKelsey Spicer-Rawe (Cows & Fish): Riparian Management and Restoration\nWinston Gamache (Agroforestry & Woodlot Extension Society): Riparian planting and bioengineering\n2:30 PM: \nTravel to a nearby field site where planting is in progress.\nThe remainder of the workshop will take place outdoors.\nField activities will include: \nLive staking and planting demonstration.\nWattle fence demonstration.\nDiscussion on species selection\, planting location\, and planting techniques.\nOptional participation in planting activities.\n4:30 PM: \nReturn to the hall (if needed).\nWorkshop concludes. \nEvent Details:\nThis workshop will proceed rain or shine.
